Middle East - Armoured Divisions
British Army Armoured Divisions in the Middle East
Four diagrams reflecting changing composition throughout the war.
Two diagram reflecting changing composition of divisions and brigades from June1940 to June 1943.
Arm of Service colours and numbers are correct to the best of my knowledge, but the situation in North Africa was extremely fluid and division composition and organisation changed frequently. As such, a definitive picture is very difficult to pin down.
Movement of regiments between brigades and divisions is, again, correct to the best of my knowledge. There is some contradiction between and even within sources, so I've tried to reconcile the difference as best I can. In some cases a regiment as shown as being in two places at once as I have been unable to find a definitive answer.

I like the way you have used Caunter / sand coloured backgrounds to show vehicle camouflage colours too.

Thank you - always good to know it's been useful to someone!
DeleteIs it possible to have unit composition graphic for this period, similar to one for 1944-5?
ReplyDeleteYou know what? That's an excellent idea. I'll see what I can do!
